Nationwide there have been 661,712 (660,430 confirmed; 1,282 probable) and 33,049 (28,823 confirmed; 4,226 probable) deaths associated with COVID-19.
Dr. Nancy Messonnier, Director at the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases said in a CDC telebriefing on 3-4-2020: “States are reporting results quickly and in the event of a discrepancy between CDC and state case counts, the state case counts should always be considered more up to date.”
